The Paramount at Reston is a 15-story condominium building at 1830 Fountain Drive. The highrise was built in 2005 and houses 100 units. It is currently the only highrise building in Reston’s “Town Center North” district, which is mostly developed with municipal buildings, including a library, police department, temporary fire station, and government center. Its higher levels enjoys unobstructed views to the north and west.
The Paramount condominiums are situated directly north of Reston Town Center’s urban core, and across Fountain Drive to the west of the Spectrum shopping center. The Spectrum has been rezoned for eventual development of mixed-use buildings around the same height as the Paramount, or shorter. Town Center North is in the early planning phases for redevelopment into a residential neighborhood.
At one point, a 13-story condominium building was proposed for the adjoining lot to the west, but county officials denied the application because it conflicted with the planned street grid.
