Scissors & Scotch, which recently opened its first DC location, intends to bring one of its first Virginia locations to the Metro Plaza at Reston Station. According to a Comstock Holdings press release, the 1902 Reston Metro Plaza lease is for what was the last available space on the plaza.
Bisnow reported last year that the expanding barbershop chain, which features a cocktail bar in every shop, was working on a deal in Reston, among other locations. The Reston Station location will take an available 2,066 square foot space on the ground floor of ICF’s new headquarters building, which will also house Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse.
Comstock’s Timothy Steffan commented on the lease, “We are thrilled to welcome Scissors and Scotch to our line-up of lifestyle and wellness offerings at Reston Station. A full-service men’s barbershop is the perfect complement to our existing best-in-class lifestyle and wellness brands, all of whom provide convenience and on-site service to Metro’s Silver Line commuters, along with our growing community of residential and office tenants.”
Earlier this year, restaurant chain Matchbox opened in an adjacent building, joining an array of eateries that includes Founding Farmers, Big Buns Burgers, and Sweet Leaf Cafe. Scissors & Scotch is expected to open sometime next year. With all of the Metro Plaza occupied, focus will turn to development on the next phase’s of Comstock’s massive mixed-use neighborhood. The company has also leased the majority of the office space that has been built so far.
Construction continues in the Reston Station area. Comstock’s Reston Row district will occupy a neighboring block, starting with a JW Marriott hotel to open in 2024. Across Wiehle Avenue, apartment community Faraday Park continues to deliver new units, and EYA’s new elevator townhome neighborhood will open its first model home this year.
