The Washington metropolitan area is one of the most actively growing regions in the United States. In the twenty-first century, the urban profile of Virginia communities such as Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Herndon, Reston, and Tysons have developed into recognizable modern skylines. With the recent addition of the Washington Metro Silver Line and upcoming extension into Loudoun County, the pace of development has increased even more rapidly.
The goal of Reston Skylines is to catalog and analyze the numerous recent and upcoming urban developments in Reston and Northern Virginia through photography, video, and discussion, in order to draw attention to the changes coming to these communities and the new ways that these spaces will be used.
